    Start of Winter Club Officer Training

    Club Officers should plan to attend training between November 1 and February 28 (February 29 in leap years) each year, as part of their work toward the Distinguished Club Program (DCP).Four officers must be trained in each of the two periods to complete Goal 9 of the DCP.

    When You Are the Judge
    Interactive judges' training to support conducting excellent speech contests.

    Whether you have never been a speech contest judge, or you have lost count of how many times, join us for a discussion of how to judge objectively using the criteria and scoring sheets.  There will be an opportunity to hear contest-style speeches, fill out the judges' ballots, and discuss the experience. We will also discuss pitfalls to watch out for.  You will come away from this training prepared to be an excellent judge.  Let's conduct our best speech contests yet!!

    The District Steering Committee is composed of the District Director, the Program Quality Director, the Club Growth Director, the District Public Relations Manager, the District Administrative Manager, the District Financial Manager, and the Division Directors of District 53.  The Region Advisor and International Director for District 53’s Region are ex officio members.  It meets on the third Monday of the odd-numbered months.

    Attendance of other persons at this meeting is by invitation of the District Director.     Club Officer Training (Winter Season) has started and will conclude at the end of February. Several sessions have been scheduled throughout the period for your convenience. District 53 has recruited a great selection of officers from high-performance clubs to facilitate and guide your workshop sessions this year. In your sessions you’ll…

    • Attend a breakout session based on your officer role.
    • Experience quality time with other officers in the same role, sharing strategies that work.
    • Work with diverse officers in many roles across the district to get proven tactics for membership, club quality, contest programs, open houses, and other club operations.
    • Attend at least 80% (120 minutes) of any 2.5 hour session to receive training credit.

    1. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 6-8:30pm
    2. Thursday, December 7, 2023, 6-8:30pm
    3. Saturday, December 9, 2023, 9-11:30am
    4. Saturday, January 13, 2024, 9-11:30am
    5. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 6-8:30pm
    6. Saturday, February 3, 2024, 9-11:30am
    7. Monday, February 19, 2024, 6-8:30pm

The Zoom link is provided at the end of the registration page and is also included in your registration confirmation email and the reminder email that will be sent two days before the event.

    If you’d like to know which officers still need to attend officer training, you can view the current TI training report for District 53 at this link. The deadline to attend a Club Officer Training (COT) is the last day of February.

  • Autumn Club Visits Deadline

    Autumn Club Visits Deadline

    Area Directors must visit their clubs, and file their reports, by November 30 each year.  These reports are filed through the District Central portal at Toastmasters.org.

    Note that the portal is often jammed during the last 2-3 days before the deadline: file your reports early and save your work often.
