FebFest is the District’s annual midwinter fun and free networking event for all Toastmasters District 53 members. It will be in person this year, on 8 February 2024 from 8:30 am to noon.

Manchester, CT 06042
This year’s event featured the following activities.
- 8:30 am – Gathering & networking
- 9:00 am — Call to Order
- 9:00 to 9:45 am – Pecha-Kucha
- 9:45 am to 10:00 am – Ugly Sweater Contest!
- 10:15 am to 11:00 am — Panel Discussion
- 11:00 am to 12:00 pm — Centennial Celebration
- 12:00 pm – Adjourn
Pecha-Kucha is a speech-a-thon where each speaker presents 20 PowerPoint slides and each slide is shown for exactly 20 seconds, for a total time of 6 minutes 40 seconds. The slides advance automatically, and when they’re done, YOU’re done! The challenge is to deliver an effective speech based on your automatically advancing slides.
Wear your Ugliest Sweater for a chance at a prize! This is a winter celebration, so dress warm and be prepared to see the worst sweaters in District 53! You don’t have to dress up or put on a tie — just wear the scratchiest, ugliest thing you can possibly find. (Bonus for blue, silver, maroon, yellow or other Toastmasters colors!)
Our Panel Discussion this year is a collection of prominent Toastmasters who have served our District as District Directors, and have noteworthy opinions about how to grow clubs, Areas, and Divisions as we work to improve our club and District performance, and serve our members more effectively. Come hear from Richard Peck, Andrew Watt, Bette McIntire, Patti Walter, and Jeff Sobel!
The Centennial Celebration is our District’s salute to the one hundred years that Toastmasters has existed..
