FebFest is the District’s annual midwinter fun and free networking event for all Toastmasters District 53 members. It was online this year via Zoom, on February 4, 2023.
This year’s event featured the following activities.
- 12:30 pm – Gathering & networking
- 01:00 pm – Pecha-Kucha
- 02:00 pm – Speech-a-thon
- 03:00 pm – Table Topics Marathon
Pecha-Kucha is a speech-a-thon where each speaker presents 20 PowerPoint slides and each slide is shown for exactly 20 seconds, for a total time of 6 minutes 40 seconds. The slides advance automatically, and when they’re done, YOU’re done! The challenge is to deliver an effective speech based on your automatically advancing slides.
The Speech-a-Thon is an opportunity to present your next Pathways speech to a broader audience and have it evaluated by someone outside your club.
The Table-Topics Marathon is an opportunity to practice your impromptu speaking skills with a broader audience.
