Phishing Attacks Resume

For several years now, within a few weeks of the changeover of officers on July 1, new District and Club officers get hit with a wave of phishing attacks — usually pleas to check out this special gift card reward incentive.

Please be suspicious of emails from our District Director that mention gift cards, incentive programs, or monetary rewards of any kind, and do not click links or reply to those sorts of emails. Instead, please alert the District Director Bettyann Peck DTM or our District Administration Manager Norm Thibodeau DTM that you’ve received such phishing attacks.

Please also remember that gift card incentives of any kind under the current governing documents of Toastmasters International are prohibited, in part as a discouragement to these kinds of phishing attacks — keep your clubs informed of these kinds of email attacks, and our own internal rules system for protecting ourselves.
